A brand new issue of VIP Magazine has hit shelves, and it’s available to pick up from today! Kathryn Thomas is VIP’s cover star this month, and she is joined by her very special new arrival, baby Grace.
We caught up with the TV presenter for this interview in the stunning surrounds of Kilkea Castle, which is where she and her husband Padraig tied the knot three years ago with their first daughter, Ellie by their side.
Since we last spoke the couple have welcomed their second child together, five-month-old Grace, “another miracle baby.” Kathryn has been candid about her struggles to conceive and even spoke on the Late Late Show about her devastating miscarriages in the past.
Chatting about how thrilled they are to have a second child Kathryn shared; “We were so over-the-moon grateful with Ellie that we never thought it would be possible to expand our family further. It was almost like I didn’t want to be greedy.”
We also got the chance to speak with TV presenter, Bláthnaid Treacy just as she returned home from two weeks in Cuba with her husband Charlie Moon. The Bray native chats to us about the whirlwind two years the pair have had including a new show she has been working on (which we can expect to see this autumn), Charlie working on his masters, as well as just buying their dream home in Stoneybatter which they’ve been renovating.
Speaking about how their relationship has developed over this time she said; “Charlie and I met when we were teenagers and still feel like those two kids. We’re best friends!”
With the Eurovision returning to our screens later this month we were very excited to meet with the talented, Brooke Scullion who is representing Ireland at this year’s event. The 23-year-old singer from Derry is set to light up the stage in Turin, Italy with her song That’s Rich.
As well as her unique, soulful voice, she has gained fans thanks to her bubbly personality and quirky, colourful style – from bubblegum pink two-pieces to 90s-inspired double denim! She chats to VIP about her hairless Sphynx called Draco, as well as her love for gymnastics, unwinding by watching Twilight and the solid advice US star Megan Trainor passed onto her.
Someone we loved getting to meet for this issue was Irish author, Jo Spain. Since leaving Leinster House (she used to work as an economic advisor to Sinn Féin’s finance spokesman, Pearse Doherty) in 2015, Jo Spain has written 12 crime novels and co-written four tv series (including RTE’s Taken Down last year and the new Amy Huberman and Jane Seymour series, Harry Wilde).
She spoke to us about how she’s managed such an impressive run of productivity in her craft; “I am an absolute workaholic, but I am lucky, like most women, that I am able to multitask so while bringing the kids to the park I’ll be planning what I need to do in next weeks episode.”
Of course, we also have lots of lifestyle, beauty and fashion content for you to enjoy, so make sure you pick up this stunning new issue now!
