Radio favourite Mairead Farrell will finally walk down the aisle today, and has been busy putting in the last preparations.
The wedding ceremony of Mairead and her beau Louis Ronan will kick off in under an hour in County Tipperary, and the bride is sure to be putting the finishing touches to her big day.
As of yet, the guest list remains unconfirmed with Ray D’Arcy and his wife Jenny, Will Hanafin, Anton Savage and Ian Dempsey likely to be there in support of their fellow radio personality.
This morning, the bride said she was feeling very relaxed ahead of the hectic nature of the afternoon: “I’m here with a cup of tea in my hand in my robe.”
“They had to wake me – I slept until 8:20 am.”
Speaking to close friend Ian Dempsey on his Breakfast Show, she told how friends and family had, last night, thrown her a surprise ‘pink party’:
“It was a lovely surprise! We all had dinner together – my family and Louis’s family, it was gorgeous, and then I came back here, you know take the makeup off, brush the teeth, and got into a pair of pj’s my sister threw in that are cute, they’re pink with love hearts all over them, and I was like, “Awe, thanks Simone.”
“Then I went downstairs and the whole family were wearing them. My dad had a pink t-shirt and so had John – my sister’s husband, and Darragh had one too. So, we had some champagne and treats.”
Today FM have sent their best wishes on for the couple on their wedding day, tweeting:
“SHE’S GETTING MARRIED TODAY! THE BRIDE-TO-BE @COCOMAIREAD IS ON THE LINE TO @IANDEMPSEY NOW. HAPPY WEDDING DAY MAIREAD & LOUIS”
