TG4 set to release exciting new fashion series this autumn

TG4 is revving up for a new fashion series! We remember the days of Paisean Faisean, racing to read the subtitles and trying to remember the cuplá focal from school.

This new series will focus on sustainability in the fashion world. This four-part series is called Eadaí) SOS, presented by Caoimhe Ní Chathail  and Proimsias Ó Coinn, and each episode will see a different fashionista revamp their own wardrobe.

Caoimhe told Her, “the aim for this show is to really get Ireland away from fast fashion and lean more into sustainability.”

“This is going to really start some interesting conversations, and even get people realizing just how obsessed we are with fast fashion, with only wearing an outfit once,” the Letterkenny lady said.

“There are other ways of doing it to be the charity shops or vintage shops, there are so many direct options. We really hope and I really do believe the show will get people talking and will get people thinking and maybe analyzing their own wardrobes after they see the show,”

With the whole show as Gaeilge, we’ll see the entire wardrobe and learn how to make it fit in with today’s trends and even how to upcycle clothes we don’t wear anymore. That t-shirt we don’t wear much? Iron on some cute details. Those jeans that are wrecked at the bottom? Shorts!

Speaking about her own love for sustainability, Caoimhe added, “the show stemmed from my genuine interest in sustainable fashion and our interest in making something that would be entertaining, but also educational and would really showcase just how important that conversation of a sustainable fashion is.”

“I really hope this show gives people tips as to how to find charity shop clothing, how to sort through their clothes, and really do a thorough sort of what they do and don’t wear. It’ll definitely give people ideas in terms of upcycling their clothes too. We take three items of clothing from each contributor and make them into a brand-new outfit.” Caoimhe added.

Keep your eyes peeled for this new show, due to appear in October!
