Terrie McEvoy has shared an emotional update on motherhood as she revealed her son Myles had fallen ill.

In a post where she thanked Temple Street staff for taking care of the four-month-old, she confessed that she had gone through the “hardest days” of being a mother.

She shared a black and white video of herself in hospital with her husband, David and their little boy.

“The hardest few days and so grateful to be out the other side,” Terrie wrote.

“I wanted to share this little snippet that David took because sometimes it’s easy to compare yourself to people online and feel like they’re sailing through motherhood, completely unphased. The truth is the past few months have been the hardest I’ve ever found motherhood, especially the past few weeks between sleep deprivation and never ending sicknesses🫩.”

She went on to say: “I know the constant feeling of guilt already hangs heavy over us mums, but this day it felt on another level. I had been awake for two days straight and went home to shower, eat, get some sleep, and see Sydney…. I missed her terribly. But then the whole time I was home I felt horrendous and just wanted to get back to see Myles. When I returned to the hospital with food and coffees and saw Myles feeling better and smiling back at me, I just broke down.

“There is nothing more painful than seeing your baby sick and the relief I felt was immense. Nothing else in this world matters other than your babies being safe and well.

“I know there are plenty of mums out there who will relate to the constant pang of guilt… the feeling that you’re not enough….. especially working mums and business owners who have to keep the show on the road, both professionally and personally.”

She concluded by saying: “This is your reminder that you are enough, we’re all in this together, we are all doing our best and we all need to be a little kinder to ourselves.

“Once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the incredible staff in Temple St children’s hospital. Bring on all of the good times ahead.”

She previously shared that they were “other side of the most worrying few days” adding that there is “nothing in this world more painful than seeing your baby sick”.

Thankfully Myles is on the mend!
