Dermot Kennedy took to BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge to perform a series of songs including his own and covers of songs he loves.
One of these covers happened to be Taylor Swift’s new song Anti-Hero from her latest album Midnights, and everyone is a fan, even Taylor herself!
BBC Radio 1 shared a clip of Dermot’s cover on Twitter which has gotten over 206.9K views and 13.1K likes, Taylor Swift commented on the post saying, “WOW – Absolutely love this.”
Dermot shared his excitement to be covering the song on social media writing, “What a song. Honoured to cover it @taylorswift . Thanks for the kind words everyone.”

So, when Taylor praised his performance on Twitter, Dermot shared his delight to his Instagram stories writing, “Crazy times thank you @TaylorSwift.”
This isn’t the first time Taylor has showed support for the Dublin native, even back in 2017 the singer saved his song Boston to her favourites on Spotify according to Metro. However, Dermot is careful not to seem like he’s bothering her.
He told Metro.co.uk, “I sent [Taylor] an email at one point and we had a good sort of back-and-forth…But she’s such a giant artist. From my point of view… you want to leave people like that alone.
“I can’t even imagine how busy her life is, so you never want to get in the way I think.”
Although Taylor and Dermot are both very busy with music at the moment, fans are calling for a collab between the two artists who write their own music.

One fan wrote, “My two favorites showing love for each other and you have the same birthday. You were destined to collab and be friends.”
“Does it mean he’ll get a guest slot on a UK eras tour show too?” another wrote, and another said, “pls tour together. pls collab. something. anything. you guys are the best.”
