Taoiseach Micheál Martin spread some Irish joy this week, as he wore Adam King’s ‘Hug For You’ pin during the annual St. Patrick’s Day meeting with US president, Joe Biden.
Adam’s virtual hug went viral during his stint on the Late Late Toy Show last year, and now, it has been made into a beautiful gold badge.
Wearing it with pride, the Taoiseach stuck it alongside some shamrock for the big day, showing it off for everyone to see.
“So pleased to share an #adamsvirtualhug from an extraordinary boy on a very special day,” he said.

Adam’s family were overcome with emotion as they realised he wore the badge and took to social media to share their delight.
“Our family are beyond proud that, on behalf of the people of Ireland, our Taoiseach shared #Adamsvirtualhug with President Biden on Saint Patrick’s Day.
“We are lost for words. Truly humbling. The smallest gestures can have the greatest impact,” they said.
Adam himself shared a messaged with the US president in an adorable clip.
“Hello President Biden, I’m sending you an Irish virtual hug for Ireland to America. Happy St. Patrick’s Day,” he beamed.
