We have plenty to celebrate this issue as VIP Magazine is celebrating turning 25 this month.
Right smack bang in the middle of the Celtic Tiger era, when Bertie Ahern was Taoiseach, when US President Bill Clinton was in bed (sort of) with Monica Lewinsky and (sort of) with Ireland (the Good Friday Agreement days); when Ricky Martin and The Corrs were on our airwaves and Britney Spears was wearing that schoolgirl uniform, a brand new Irish glossy magazine was running through the WG Baird printing presses in the early days of June 1999!
To mark what is a special occasion for us on our 25th anniversary we asked these four fabulous queens and friends of VIP, Celia Holman-Lee, Suzanne Jackson, Rosanna Davison and Gráinne Seoige to walk with us back through time….
Celia discusses the landscape of the Irish celeb scene 25 years ago, Suzanne tells us about her aspirations for the future, Rosanna discusses how much her life has changed in the last few years and Gráinne reminds us why now is not the time to be silent.
After leaving 2FM, we caught up with The 2 Johnnies who have a very busy summer ahead of them.
“Walking away from anything isn’t easy, but it felt it was the right time. We have so much work on that we’re looking forward to getting stuck into,” Johnny Smacks tells us.
