Whether you’re coupled up or flying solo at the moment we’ve got a list of fun events that are sure to keep you busy for this Valentine’s weekend – and better yet, they suit every price range. Here’s VIP’s top picks:

Valentines Day Party at the Harbourmaster

If you’re looking for a night out this weekend why not try this Valentine’s Day party in the IFSC. This could be a fun choice if you’re single or loved up and it’s also just a good opportunity to meet new friends. The dress code is smart-casual, or Valentine’s themed, so whip out that red dress and go have some fun! Tickets are 10 euro and there will be a live DJ, entertainers, drinks offers and spot prizes. Bean Bag Cinema

The Bean Bag Cinema will be taking place this weekend at the four star Hampton Hotel. True Romance will be screened so if you’re up for chilling out and watching a film about murder and prostitution this has your name written all over it! This is a great option for those who want to switch off from the V-Day vibe, or for those couples who just aren’t into romance. The price is only €10 and it starts at 7:30pm so grab your favourite snacks and enjoy!

Girls/ guys night in

If you’re looking for a quiet night in, why not round up a few of your mates, grab a bottle of wine and order your favourite take away. You could even make some sinful treats and watch a good comedy flick (we suggest anything with Will Ferrell or Adam Sandler). These nights are always fun and full of laughs, the perfect thing to get your mind off the fact that it’s Valentines day!

Dublin Zoo are hosting a fantastic Date Morning event this Saturday and Sunday if you’re looking for something a little different to get up to this weekend. You and your significant other, be that friend or lover, will receive a romantic breakfast picnic and get to experience the early morning sights of the zoo.

BYOB Bowling

This is available at Leisureplex outlets across Dublin, and the Bray Bowl. Bowling alone is fun, but bowling with beer? Even better. Why not give this date a go this weekend for a fun and chilled out Valentine’s day. Be sure to check with your local Leisureplex for their terms and conditions.

Cinema trip

The highly awaited Zoolander 2 is out today. Derek and Hansel are at it again when an opposing modelling company attempts to put them out of business. Starring Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, with cameos from Kimye, Justin Bieber and Lewis Hamilton, this ridiculously good looking film is sure to keep you entertained.

Bottle of wine and sunset

If you’re looking for something more romantic without having to splash the cash, why not pack a picnic and watch the sunset. Dollymount and Sandymount beaches are our top scenic choices and if you bring a blanket and a bottle of wine you can’t help but bring the romance! Let’s just hope the weather holds out…

At home restaurant

To avoid the madness of restaurants on Valentines day why not make your other half’s favourite meal? Make your house an at-home-restaurant, it’s more relaxing, cheaper and you know exactly what’s in your food- the benefits are endless! For some yummy recipes, we recommend checking out Roz Purcell’s new cook book.
