Steve Coogan jetted into Ireland over the weekend to walk the red carpet at the IFTA Awards on Friday night.
He has been paying tribute to his Irish roots for decades now.
And he couldn’t be more proud to be recognised for his portrayal of former Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy.
He played the role alongside Cork’s Éanna Hardwicke who took on the mighty role of Roy Keane in Saipan.

Speaking about the nomination, Steve told VIP Magazine on the night: “It’s nice to get an IFTA nomination. It’s a pat on the back. It might even impress my mother.”
Steve’s mother is from Co Mayo and has often spoken about spending time in Ireland during his childhood summers.
Steve was nominated for Lead Actor in a film for Saipan, however, he missed out on the win to his co-star Éanna.
We’re sure Steve had a great time at the awards anyway!
