We’ll miss Stephanie Kelly’s infectious energy on Dancing with the Stars every Sunday.
VIP Magazine caught up with the Fair City star following her departure from the show.
She shared with us that her time on the show was “the first time in a long time” that she “challenged herself”.
“When I agreed to do the show I said I’m going to have a bit of craic. I’m going to learn to dance probably one or two dances, have a laugh,” she told us with a smile.

She went on to say: “It’s the first time in a long time where I challenged myself and the belief that I didn’t have kind of came to the surface and I realised I really didn’t have as much confidence as I thought.
“Then I watched that confidence grow, and I feel amazing after it. I’m so proud of myself, I’ve gotten so much out of it. Personally, mentally, physically. I’ve lost over a stone, and I’m still eating everything! I’ll have to join a gym now after this to keep it up.”
Speaking about her time on the show, she remembered her highlights: “I got so much from doing this show than I realised. I told the producers I’d do it if they let me dance as a Britney Spears with a yellow snake, and I did that. The paso doble was my favourite and doing the group dance as one of the Spice Girls.”
While she is certainly going to miss Dancing with the Stars, joking that she’s going to pretend that she’s still on the show, Stephanie is buzzing for a day off.

“I can’t wait for a lazy day. I’m not even sending the kids to school, we can all stay in our pyjamas and do nothing!” she laughs.
“But then get back into the fitness because I’m enjoying feeling a lot fitter now. We definitely want to keep that up. But I’m definitely going to enjoy more slow days…although it’s only a couple of weeks and then I’ll be back for the final!”
While she has become firm friends with everyone on the show, we had to find out if she was rooting for anyone in particular.
“I have a soft spot for one of them and I love them all,” she diplomatically told us, before saying: “Tolü! I just love watching her. I love them all, and I think they all deserve to win. But I love watching Tolü, it would be amazing if she won it.”
Dancing with the Stars continues Sunday, 6:30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
