Spencer Matthews has been open about his journey with alcohol after suffering with alcohol dependency between the ages of 15 and 30.
He admitted that during that time period he would take shots of liquor at nine or 10 in the morning.
The former Made in Chelsea star appeared on Hooked on RTÉ this week to discuss addiction in different forms.
He shared: “I used to drink every day from the age of 15 all the way up to 30….I’d drink every day, quite often.

“There was a period where I’d walk past our liquor cabinet at 9 or 10 am and I’d be drawn by it. I would sometimes open the liquor cabinet and bang a shot of tequila or something and put it back.”
He admitted that he would snap at his wife Vogue Williams when she asked him if he had drank that day.
Spencer spoke about meeting Chip Somers, who sobered him up for the first time.
He explained that Chip told him: “You absolutely stink, you stink of whiskey. When we finish this meeting and you leave I’m going to have to open the windows in here so that my next client doesn’t think I’ve been drinking – that’s how bad you smell.”

“He made me feel like shit and then he challenged me – he did it on purpose,” he admitted.
He added that he doesn’t view himself as in “recovery” and can enjoy a glass of wine with Vogue.
“I don’t think I’m in recovery. To be honest, if I felt like having a drink, I would have a drink.. It doesn’t frighten me anymore. I don’t need to drink in secrecy. I don’t need to hide it,” he said.
“If I fancy a glass of wine with my wife, I’ll have one. She wouldn’t care. We’ve gone through it all and come out the other side, and it feels good to have that element of control, something that I’ve come across again and again. I was definitely proud of my own journey.”
What an emotional chat!
