The weather is set to take a chilling turn tonight, as temperatures are expected to drop as low as -3 degrees.
As scattered showers and gusty winds ease off throughout the day, temperatures will plummet, bringing a very bitter outlook for the next 24 hours.
As well as the chill, Met Eireann have warned that “further wintry showers will lead to falls of snow.”
They continued, “Wednesday will dawn cold and frosty with snow lying in some areas. It will be a cold and bright day with sunny spells and a few wintry showers.”
With a yellow status weather warning in place until Saturday, people are urged to take precautions.
