Kathryn Thomas has paid an emotional tribute to former Operation Transform leader Sarah O’Callaghan following her recent death.
Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2015, and after a lengthy illness, died surrounded by her loved ones.
In an emotional tribute, OT host Kathryn Thomas said, “Rest in peace, gorgeous girl. Even the strongest fighter in the world can only fight so long.
“There’s a phrase that goes ‘she’s not behind the door in telling you how she feels!’ Every time someone says a version of it I always think of you and it makes me smile.”
She continued, “Always shooting from the hip. Always up for the craic and so fiercely loyal loving and protective over your family who you adored so much.
“She’s one of one of a kind… the kindest one of a kind. Sarah, sleep well beautiful.”
Sarah appeared on Operation Transformation in 2018, and everyone who works on the show, has felt the impact of her passing.
Earlier this week, Kathryn revealed it was tough to film the show after hearing the news, but they hoped to dedicate the latest episode to Sarah.
“It floored us, to be honest. We were on set this weekend and it was difficult, it was very difficult,” she said.
“She was a brilliant, brilliant person. She was a great a fighter and a great mother, she was too young to die.”
