The Wanted star Siva Kaneswaran has shared his disappointment as he will miss this week’s Dancing On Ice performance following the advice of medical professionals after falling ill.
A spokesperson for Dancing On Ice confirmed he, and pro-partner Klabera Komini, won’t be performing on Sunday night.
Explaining: “Due to illness Siva will not skate in this weekend’s show. We look forward to welcoming him back next weekend.”
Siva also spoke out, sharing his disappointment at not being able to hit the ice this week.
Adding: “I’m gutted that I won’t be performing this weekend but I picked up a bug earlier in the week which I haven’t been able to shake so I need to rest and get myself better.”
“Good luck to all the contestants this weekend – I’m looking forward to watching everyone’s performances!”
This isn’t the first issue Siva has faced on his Dancing on Ice journey, suffering a concussion before his first performance. But despite the difficulty the singer took to the ice and impressed the judges.
Speaking before the show his first spin around the rink, the singer told the Daily Mail: “Friday just passed, I had a serious fall. I hit the back of my head. So I’ve been diagnosed in a mild concussion as of today.”
But Siva didn’t let the incident knock him, getting back to practicing as soon as possible. “I just want to kind of get back on the ice because it can really shake your confidence especially if you’ve just cracked your head on the ice.”
“But I expected this, just trying to stay focused and determined and know this is part of the journey,” he explained.
Here’s wishing Siva a speedy recovery!
