Salma Hayek made a very surprising confession on the Graham Norton Show last night.
The actress revealed that she once tried to make her husband think she was having an affair, in order to save a puppy.
Salma admitted that she’s a huge pet lover – she has over 30 pets, including alpacas, parrots, cats and dogs – and will do anything in her power to rescue those in need.
She promised her husband she wouldn’t save any more animals, but a “little puppy who was abandoned and going to die” came to her.
Speaking to Graham, she said, “I took him. But I was terrified, thinking how am I going to explain this to my husband?
“So I came up with this brilliant idea, to pretend that I was having an affair. Then when he realises it was just a dog, he would feel better.
“I left him a message and said, ‘You must call me at this time. We need to talk. It’s very important.’
“I never do that. I said, ‘I feel so terrible. I don’t know how to say this to you. I know this is not going to go down well. I’m really nervous. Please have mercy on me. Have patience and be understanding. It’s been so stressful and I’m so tired and I was so lonely. You do crazy things when you’re in this state.’
“And he just said, ‘Please don’t tell me you picked up another dog?!’”
Hilarious! He definitely knows her too well.
