Ryan Tubridy is back in business!
Yes, just last week the former Late Late Show host announced that he will be taking up a new position in the UK, confirming that he will be joining Virgin Radio as a presenter in London.
Now his two daughters, Ella and Julia have shared their thoughts on the big move.
After getting word from their dad about the news, the pair, aged 24 and 18, told him how much they admire and respect him in touching texts.
In a heartfelt interview with the Sunday Times, Ryan admitted that he was so moved by his daughters’ support that he became emotional.
“When I signed the contract last week, I got in the back of a taxi and I got two messages from my daughters and I just started to cry,” Ryan said.
“You know, it just sums it all up. I realised that what I was doing all this for was for them and for my family.”
Continuing on, he said: “I wanted them to know that there were these awful things that happened but that I came to this new land for a new opportunity with people who have been so respectful and so welcoming and so warm and so appreciative.

“They just said, ‘We care about you, you are a great broadcaster and you are ready to do this. We trust you, we admire you, we want you.’ And, I don’t know, it’s like a different language.”
“I got very excited but I was worried. I was so worried about it because I was so scarred from previous experiences.”
Ryan will kick off his new gig on January 4th – new year, new country.
The show will air Monday to Friday 10am to 1pm, which is slightly longer than his RTÉ Radio 1 slot. We can’t wait to tune in!
