Rumours swirled in 2025 that Ryan Tubridy would be returning to the TV screen.
And now we know when he will be popping up on the box.
Virgin Media Television confirmed that they would be airing The Assembly Ireland last year, with Muireann O’Connell as the host of the show.
Now we know when the inclusive and compelling new television format will begin.

The series premieres Monday, 19th January at 9pm on Virgin Media PLAY and Virgin Media One, continuing weekly for four episodes.
The Assembly Ireland is a fearless new format where well-known Irish personalities are interviewed by a group of autistic and neurodivergent reporters, known as ‘The Assembly’, and absolutely nothing is off limits. The group has prepared for these interviews over time and is primed and ready to ask everything they – and you – want asked and answered.
Across the series, Micheál Martin, Joanne McNally, Rosie O’Donnell and Ryan Tubridy honestly answer – or try to – all the questions posed to them.
From raw truths to unexpected revelations, prepare for a series that rips up the rulebook on celebrity interviews and dares to ask it all.
This groundbreaking series showcases neurodiversity and inclusion in a way never seen before on Irish television, broadening perspectives and creating national conversations around difference, understanding, and inclusion.
The interviewers come from diverse backgrounds, different world views and life experiences, but share two key traits: a disarming authenticity and a commitment to the truth. These interviews are different from anything you have seen before.
