The presenter returned to the radio this morning after taking a break to re-cooperate before The Late Late Show begins again.

He gushed about his trip, without saying where he went, but assured listeners it was everything he’d wished for.

“”It was beautiful everywhere we went…The sea looked gorgeous, the people were red, the rest of us were just enjoying ourselves,” he said.

He also spoke about how happy he was to see the country getting back to a bit of normality “It was like the place was coming alive again, after that awful shadow that has been cast over the country for so long…businesses were booming…There were drinks outside and outside dining was working out a treat and everyone seemed to be doing a wonderful job”.

While he was away both Oliver Callan and Baz Ashmawy appeared in his place, with Oliver covering the first few weeks and Baz filling in last week.

Ryan told listeners before we went, “I’m packing my bags and getting out of your hair for a few weeks.

“And by the time I get back I’ll be heading towards the reality of Late Late Show and Toy Show, and everything else that is going to happen when schools come back and relative, I hope, normality and audiences and excitement.

“I’ve got a heap of books I want to get through and read and relax and turn it all off. Go off grid for a little while and enjoy the liberty of that,” he said.

We are glad to hear Ryan enjoyed his time away! Glad to have you back!
