It might just be the most coveted job on telly, but it is seemingly the most difficult job to get filled.
Ryan Tubridy’s final Late Late Show is only three weeks away and the hunt for his replacement appears to still be on.
After both Claire Byrne and Sarah McInerney denied that they would be taking on the role, eyes focused elsewhere for the next host.
Patrick Kielty appears to be the favourite to step into the hosting seat. And now Ryan Tubridy has shared his two cents on the matter.
Speaking on his radio show on Monday morning, Ryan noted: “Patrick Kielty featuring strongly and firmly in a lot of the papers today, with the suggestion being, ‘Maybe it’s time for another P.K to take over the Late Late Show!'”
Of course, Pat Kenny was the second host of the iconic chat show with Ryan taking over from him in 2009.
While he didn’t reveal anything in regards of who would be his replacement, he did note just how “lovely” Patrick was.
“Lovely man, though. Lovely fella, and a lovely wife and a good egg all around, so we’ll see where that all goes, shall we?” Ryan simply said.
Ryan only has three more shows left in his Late Late Show tenure. We’ll just have to wait and see who steps up to the plate next.
