Ryan Tubridy

Ryan Tubridy is the latest celeb to join the many people self isolating this Christmas.

The popular host didn’t appear on his radio show this morning, with Oliver Callan taking over since Ryan is now in isolation.

Oliver said, “Your ringmaster Ryan was looking forward to being here to bring you all towards the Chrimbo, however, he joins the tens of thousands. of unlucky punters out there who have been pinged as close contacts, and that means you don’t come to work, so I’m here instead.

“It’s very widely common, you may not have Covid, but the HSE send you the message and say someone you may or may not know, you’re a close contact of that person who has tested positive and so Ryan is now a member of that growing, gigantic community who have had their Christmas’ upended all of a sudden.

“136,000 people according to the front page of this morning’s Irish Independent, all of them having a rather discombobulated festive season in store. It’s chaotic for workplaces everywhere but that’s where we are we’re in this deja-vu Jenga of Christmases that are happening and then it collapses.”

Ryan posted an Instagram story letting followers know and wishing them a happy Christmas.

We are hoping Ryan is feeling well soon!

There have been many familiar faces testing positive this Christmas, along with the thousands around the country.

Influencer Niamh Cullen has just finished her isolation in time for Christmas but shared some support for anyone who is in the same boat for the festive season.

“All of us are feeling the same…we’re all feeling sh*t and sad and it’s so disappointing. But you’re not the only one. There are so many people who have tested positive and it’s not that it’s a bad thing or there should be some sort of stigma with it, it’s just unfortunately the way life is at the moment and it just is what it is.

“It could be any other time of year where we’d be fine for ten days, but just Christmas time it’s obviously really sh*t…there’s so many others feeling this way. You’ll be fine and these ten days will go like this, and you’ll be over it, take this time to mind yourself.”

Sending love to anyone who’s having a tough Christmas this year.
