Dancing with the Stars is set to return to our screen in the new year.
And while several names have been throwing their name in the hat in the ring, no one has been confirmed to join the line up.
Although rumours are swirling that an RTÉ legend could be strutting their stuff across the dancefloor next year.
It’s been reported that Eileen Dunne has been in talks to join the show.
According to RSVP the newsreader is currently “secured” for DWTS.
“Bosses are delighted to have Eileen on board because she is such a big name and everyone at home will know her and get behind her,” a source told the publication.
Eileen wouldn’t be the first RTÉ alum on the show.
Mary Kennedy appeared on the fourth season of Dancing with the Stars following her retirement. While former newsreader Aengus MacGrianna also took part in season five.
Eileen stepped away from her news reading role last November. But clearly, Eileen is not ready to sit on her laurels!
She previously told VIP Magazine: “I never want to work full time again. I’ll take on nice projects that appeal to me. I don’t want to be too busy.”
“I hope to spend appreciative of life and how her only more time doing the things I love, plan for the next few months, is to with the people I love.”
VIP Magazine caught up with TikToker and social media star Lauren Whelan to chat about what she has planned. And she is very eager to get onto the beloved dance show.
“Dancing with the Stars. That is what I want to do. Hello… cough cough… I want to do Dancing with the Stars!!” she jokingly told us.
“It’s just always something I’ve watched and would love to do, but I am not a star, who am I to think I can go on that? But I would love to do it.”
