Kin has been one of those TV shows that has viewers on the edge of their seats.
It was definitely a blow when it looked like it wouldn’t be returning for a third season.
Bron Studios, the production company and financiers of Kin, filed for bankruptcy last July. On top of that, the stars in the show have busy schedules and getting them back together is a huge difficulty.
The show stars the likes of Clare Dunne, Aidan Gillen, Charlie Cox, Ciarán Hinds, and Emmett J. Scanlan.
Now RTÉ has revealed that they are “keen” to get the show back for season three.
Speaking to The Sun, RTÉ boss Kevin Bakhurst said: “I know that everyone involved is keen to make it happen. We certainly are.
“But there are some tricky issues to get resolved first after one of the key international companies involved in its production and distribution last time declared bankruptcy.”
He went on to say that the cast is also “keen” to return to the characters that the viewers have fallen in love with.
The publication states: “It’s all down to the availability of the cast.”
Yes, getting all these very successful actors in the same room again has proved very difficult.
However, it doesn’t look like that third season will materialise anytime soon.
