RTE 2fm presenter Paddy McKenna has announced that he’s leaving the show Weekenders, which he hosts alongside Ruth Scott.
Paddy took to social media to announce that this weekend will be his last on the show and it’s not a choice he made lightly.
He said, “After five brilliant years co-hosting Weekenders with Ruth Scott, I’ve taken the decision to leave the show. This weekend will be my last. I do so with a heavy heart.”
The presenter is also currently the editor of Joe.ie, and is struggling to juggle two jobs and his family life. His son is almost one, and Paddy wants to spend as much time with him as he can.
“Thing is, I’ve given it my best shot but I can’t do it all. You guys are awesome but Michael needs me more… I’m looking forward to spending weekends with my little family, but I’m not gone too far. See you soon,” he said.
You can catch his last show today from 2-5pm, and read his full statement here:
