Roz Purcell has spoken out about how she handles online abuse. The stunning Tipperary native revealed that unlike many, she likes to reply to keyboard warriors and put them in their place.
As reported by the Irish Mirror, the food blogger used to let hateful online comments get her down, but now she takes them with a pinch of salt.
“I used to always get comments like, ‘Oh you’ve definitely got your lips done.’ And they’d say to me they think my lips look massive and disgusting.
“I got mad at the start, but then Mum said to just take it as a compliment. Now I don’t care about that kind of stuff.
“I’ve always had big lips, the whole way through since I started modelling. I’ve just learned how to use make-up properly and use lip liner,” she said.
Roz also admitted to the Irish Daily Mail that nowadays if she receives any cruel online abuse, she replies because everyone has the right to defend themselves.
“I’m lucky now in that I’ve found, since doing what I do with food, that the people who tend to follow me are not there to criticise. The odd time if I do get (hurtful comments) I’ll always reply.
“I don’t get the people who write things like that, it just makes them look bad and how would you feel if it was you?
“If anyone comments online, I usually comment back because as far as I’m concerned everyone has a right to defend themselves,” she said.
