If you’re in your September reset you might want to start getting out in nature and get exercising.
Yes, we think hiking is the hot girl activity. And if you’re new to the hiking scene you might not even know where to start.
So we had to enlist the queen of hikes, Roz Purcell to share her three top hiking tips.
1. Plan your hike
A big thing would be to plan your hike. I mean that in the sense that you make sure that you’re picking a route that is suitable for your ability, so if you are a beginner pick a beginners route. Check the weather! If you’re going out in high winds or rain you’re probably not going to enjoy it. And you want your first few experiences hiking to be enjoyable. And I also mean make sure that you’re wearing the appropriate gear. So have a full idea of the route and a full idea of what you’re expecting and being prepared for it.
2. Fuel up!
My tip would be to make sure that you’re fuelled. It might sound really stupid but I think people actually forget it. You’re fuelled before you go, bring something with you and have something in the car for afterwards. I know a lot of people who this happens to. It’s not the terrain, it’s not the distance, people just get really tired because of low sugar. So make sure that you are fuelled correctly!
3. Follow a hiking page
The third one would have to be follow a hiking page. And I don’t even mean mine. You’re going to get a wealth of tips! My whole social media is just tips, tips, tips. Now Instagram and TikTok are becoming valuable content. So follow people who are experienced and who know what they’re doing. Or join your local club so you can surround yourself with people who are experienced. And you will cut out the crap! You won’t have to make so many mistakes.
