It would be our dream to see Roy Keane take on the Bushtucker Trials in the Jungle.

But it looks like we’ll have to keep dreaming as the soccer star has shut down any and all rumours.

Ant and Dec appeared on the podcast, Stick to Football, where they tried to convince the Cork man to take part in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.

The podcast lineup includes Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, Ian Wright alongside Roy.

He was asked if he had ever been asked to take part in the reality show.

“A couple of times, yeah,” he said nonchalantly.

Of course, Ant and Dec jumped at the opportunity to try to twist his arm.

“Roy, when you do it, you’ll realise it’s actually a lot of fun,” Ant told him.

Roy was quick to say: “Dream on, lads, dream on.”

“Is it a no then? Because I know you’ve joked about it on here a lot. Do we need to just go back to ITV today with something signed?” Ant was quick to ask.

“Give us a bit of paper and a pen, and you can write down a number, we’ll take it to ITV. We’ll put it under their noses. You don’t have to mention it (the number) here,” Dec joked.

But Roy shut that down saying: “Why is it about numbers? Everyone thinks it is about numbers.”

Jill Scott championed Roy, telling him:Β “You would be so good. Is there even one per cent of you that would consider it?”

“I don’t know. I don’t like looking too far forwards. It’s too far away,” he responded.

So we’re taking that as a no, then.
