Rory McIlroy’s ex Holly Sweeney has broken her silence ahead of his upcoming wedding to Erica Stoll.
There is no bad blood between these childhood sweethearts, as the golf pro’s former love has wished him nothing but the best with his impending nuptials.
The couple first started dating when they were teenagers, but they put an end to their six year relationship in 2011.
Unlike many bitter exes, Holly harbours no ill will towards her ex and she’s even admitted that she’s a big fan of his wife-to-be.
“Of course I’d wish him well with his big day. She’s lovely.” she told the Sunday World. “I’ve met her a couple times here, she’s really dead on.”
However, despite their amicable break-up, Holly won’t be attending his wedding next weekend.
“Why would I be, I wouldn’t really invite many exes to my wedding, would you? I have no idea what’s happening about it, I would be of no use to you. It must be very hush hush.” she said.
“We’ve both moved on with our lives and I wish him the best.”
