Room to Improve viewers demand part two to Sunday night’s episode

Dermot Bannon

Dermot Bannon is back on our screens to help us through this cold January.

In the second episode, Dermot and quantity surveyor Claire Irwin travelled to Palmerstown, Dublin, to meet Katie and Jason Rehill.

The couple bought their dream home in 2019 in Palmsertown. However, five years later the family of four have been left with a renovation disaster.

This is where Dermot steps in.

While the family originally thought their house was perfect for them, it soon became clear that they needed more space. Their house was cluttered with children’s toys as well as a cramped kitchen where they could barely fit a table into.

There was also the worry that the damp in the house was affecting their son Harry’s asthma.

The couple had a budget of €325,000 to overhaul their home, with Dermot planning to give them a long kitchen extension as well as a kids’ room and also a cosy room for Katie to relax in.

In his original plan, Dermot included four bedrooms and an office for Jason.

It was certainly a serious undertaking. And with the deadline looming, the family chose to move back into their home before the renovations to the upstairs was finished.

However, viewers were left disappointed that they didn’t get to see the finished result. In fact, they called for a second part for the episode.

We’ll just have to wait and see…
