Ronan Keating to lead BBC One’s New Year’s Eve celebrations

He may be an Irishman, but Ronan Keating will be ringing in the New Year across the pond as he’s set to host the year’s New Year’s Eve spectacular on BBC One.

Yes, the singer will be fronting a brand-new show titled Ronan Keating and Friends: A New Year’s Eve Party.

Joined on stage by a line-up of special guests set to be revealed in the coming weeks, Ronan will ring in 2026 with live performances of some of his biggest hits.

Speaking on BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills Breakfast Show, Ronan said he was “truly honoured” to be asked to take the reins for one of the broadcaster’s biggest nights of the year.

“It’s such an honour to be there on the night performing with my friends and with my band,” he shared.

“It’s going to be very special. I can’t wait.”

The singer admitted he’s usually at home with family when the clock strikes midnight, adding:  “It’s always our tradition.

“We don’t do parties, really. Being at home in the house, counting down, having dinner with the family. It’s such a special one, and to see the New Year in with your loved ones is everything.

“I’ll be able to share it with how many millions of people across the UK on New Year’s Eve? I can’t wait.”

Ronan shot to fame in 1993 as a member of Boyzone alongside Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, Shane Lynch and the late Stephen Gately.

As a solo artist, he went on to enjoy global success with chart-topping singles such as When You Say Nothing at All and Life Is a Rollercoaster.

So you best believe we will be tuning in on the night!
