Ronan Keating has shared a touching tribute to his late friend and bandmate Stephen Gately on Instagram today, marking 16 years since the Boyzone singer’s passing.
In the post, Ronan wrote: “Years are passing fast. Miss you my friend, my brother, my wing man.
“I’m sure you are laughing at the fact we have decided to approach this next chapter, he joked.
“Kills me to do it alone. But I know you are there X”.

The music world was left stunned when Stephen, just 33, passed away in 2009 due to a heart condition while staying at his holiday home in Majorca.
His death sent shockwaves through fans and the band alike.
Stephen, along with Ronan, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham, and Shane Lynch, rose to fame in the 1990s as members of Boyzone, selling millions of albums and releasing hits including Words, A Different Beat, and No Matter What.
The loss of Stephen devastated the group, who continued as a four-piece until releasing their farewell album Thank You & Goodnight in 2018.

However, the band have now confirmed a long-awaited reunion…for one night only.
Taking to Instagram, they shared a black and white video of the four bandmates before revealing their “world exclusive headline show”.
The caption read: “We’re going to be sharing the stage once again for a world exclusive headline show at Emirates Stadium on Saturday 6th June 2026.”
Fingers crossed, they will add an Irish date!
