Rob Kearney shares his disappointment as his final match is cancelled

Rob Kearney was meant to play his final game as a professional Rugby Player over the weekend as Barbarians were set to take on Samoa in London.

Unfortunately for Rob, the match was cancelled just 90 minutes before it was scheduled to begin.

Both Rob and his-wife-to-be had previously posted tributes to his career, Jess wrote;

“What an amazing career and what an achievement to play your last game with the Babas. So proud of you, sending all the luck & love across the pond.”

Rob had posted a picture of himself in his Barbarians kit with the caption, “It’s always been a dream to play for the @barbarians_fc and what a historic team to play your last game of rugby with, grateful for the opportunity!”

On Sunday Rob thanked fans for their support after the cancellation on Twitter saying;

Absolutely gutted not to have gotten one last run out yesterday with the @Barbarian_FC but a sincere thanks for all the kind messages and well wishes, I lived my childhood dream and I am very grateful for that.

“PS Thanks to whoever made the below image,” he added posting this artwork…

Rob is set to marry Jess Redden this week, just days after he finished his rugby career.

He told The Irish Times, “If you told me that back 15 years ago that I would be finishing my career and beginning my marriage five days later I would have told you, you were dreaming.”

But it’s no dream, the gorgeous couple will tie the knot later this week. We cannot wait to see some pictures from their nuptials.
