Pippa O’Connor and Brian Ormond spent a day in Temple street earlier this week as their young son Billy underwent a small surgery.
No parent is calm, cool or collected when their child is under the weather but there is truly just something terrifying about them going into surgery paticularly at such a young age.
Pippa shared how terrified she felt for little Billy not wanting to see him suffer as any mother would feel when their child is sick.
She said: “When it comes to your kids and a baby, even though he’s not a baby baby, the little size of him in the gown and putting the mask over his face, I was like “oh my god” but everyone in Temple Street was amazing and he’s absolutely grand now”.
Pippa shared an update to her Instagram saying baby Billy is back home and doing okay. She thanked everyone for their concern and well wishes, also thanking the doctors and nurses at Temple Street who cared for Billy so well post procedure.

She revealed that Billy was born with a fatty cyst over his right eyebrow which was unnoticeable at first but as he grew so did it.
She said: “It took us a few months to see it but it definitely got bigger and more noticeable as he got older. I think they’re quite common in children and they often just disappear or burst themselves but his just got bigger”.
Pippa went on to say that she was expecting the anaesthetic to make him lethargic but it actually had the opposite effect with him running around like a Duracell bunny, “not a bother on him”.

She said: “I think myself and Brian were more traumatised than him, he was grand”.
Thankfully Billy is recovering well at home despite his mam and dad’s worrying.
