Claudia Carroll has revealed that she will be returning to her role as Nicole in Fair City.
The actress has been playing the character on and off for years but left the show in 2007, before returning for brief stints on the soap.
Claudia left to focus on her career as an author, for which she is very successful but adds that she loves coming back to the show.
“It’s lovely to be able to go in and out,” she said.
“When I left to write my third book the producer said, ‘we won’t put you into a box’, which sounds vile but it means the character can come back.
“If you don’t kill off a character you just don’t know where it’s going to go,” she told RTE’s Today Show.
She added: “I’m always delighted to come back in. It’s a happy company.”
Though she is looking forward to being back, she admitted that Nicole isn’t loved by the fans.
“When a character can go on and on, I think it’s brilliant. But she’s not a very likeable character. People don’t like Nicola.
“The nicest thing anyone can say to me is, ‘oh you are not like that character at all’.”
The 48-year-old revealed she’ll be returning to the show in a few weeks.
