Paul Mescal might be the busiest man in Hollywood. In fact, he has just been linked to yet another iconic character.
But he’ll be heading into the Gladiator ring first the play the lead role in the upcoming Gladiator sequel.
And if Paul wasn’t enough of a draw, the film has become very star-studded.
After it was announced the Maynooth man would lead the film, Barry Keoghan joined the film as his foil.
Since the announcement of the film, the cast list has become more and more star-studded.
Denzel Washington quickly joined the cast in an undisclosed role which is said to be “badass”.
Connie Nielsen will be reprising her role from the original Gladiator as Lucilla meaning that she will play Paul Mescal’s mother.
Stranger Things star, Joseph Quinn has landed the role of Emperor Caracalla.
And most recently, we’ve learned that man of the moment Pedro Pascal is in talks to star in the film.

According to Deadline, Pedro is in the final stages of negotiations to play an unknown role.
The film is set to start production in the coming weeks before its release in 2024.
Paul Mescal is said to have been cast in the film as the grown-up version of Lucius, the son of Lucilla and the nephew of Commodus who was played by Joaquin Phoenix.
Meanwhile, Barry will play the film’s villain, Roman Emperor Geta.
