Need some excellent television to get you through a new week? Good news! Paul Mescal’s psychological thriller The Deceived is now on Netflix.
The series has been shown on TV already, but can now be binged at your leisure thanks to Netflix. Written by Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee, the show also stars Irish actor Emmett J. Scanlan.
The story follows Ophelia, who has an affair with her lecturer and falls pregnant, when her lecturer’s well known wife dies things get eery as he insists Ophelia wear her clothes and live in their home… Paul Mescal plays a fireman who gets to know Ophelia during the madness.
If you love a thriller you’ll want to see this one! When the series aired on television last year, fans rushed to twitter to praise Pauls latest performance, as well as share their excitement to see the Normal People star back on their screens.

Mescal shot to fame during quarantine last year when his series Normal People was released, he’s been extremely successful since landing roles in Irish productions as well as feature films including one starring oppiste Saoirse Ronan that’s set to begin filming in January.
It’s great to see Irish talent being recognised, we are excited to see what’s next for Paul!
