Paul Mescal has become an indie darling in the first few years of his career.
But he could be swapping his art-house favourites for a big-budget blockbuster.
The Maynooth man has been tipped to play the next James Bond.
Yes, you heard that right!
According to The Sun, he is in talks to take on the role of one of the James Bonds in the upcoming film.
The next instalment into the franchise will reportedly feature two James Bonds – one young and one old.
And it looks like the Irish man may be following in Pierce Brosnan’s footsteps to play Bond in the 26th instalment in the franchise,
It’s not the first time that Paul has been linked to the movies.
Back in 2020 when asked if he would take on the MI6 spy, he said; “I’m a huge Bond fan. I think it’s an incredible franchise. But it feels very, very far away from current circumstances.
“Would I play Bond? Yeah? I don’t know. If it ever came my way, we’d have a discussion about it. I don’t know. I don’t want to say yes or no. I am a massive fan, and will continue to be, regardless.”
In terms of the most recent rumours, producer Barbara Broccoli said in October her team “haven’t even begun” the Bond modernisation process.
So it’s likely that the next film will come out in 2025 or 2026!
Would you like to see Paul as the next Bond?
