Pat Kenny announced that he would be moving away from his Monday to Friday role on Newstalk.

Instead, the former Late Late Show host revealed that he would be continuing on with the station but moving to Saturday and Sunday.

“This show will continue unchanged into the new year but in the spring of next year, I’m moving the Pat Kenny Show to the weekends, Saturday and Sunday, where I hope to make a big impact for the station,” he said on his radio show.

“The reason for saying this is I just want to thank all of you for helping to make this show the biggest show on commercial radio. But for now, the shows goes on.”

Claire Byrne will be stepping into this slot in 2026, moving from RTÉ Radio 1.
