Pamela Joyce has bid farewell to Today FM.

The radio presenter announced that her show on Tuesday would be her last.

She stepped into the lunchtime radio slot when Mairead Ronan left the station in 2022.

“We want to wish the one and only Pamela Joyce the very best of luck as she finishes up her lunchtime show on Today FM,” Today FM wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of Pamela.

“We’ve loved every minute of the last few years Pam, you are one in a million.”

Pamela then reshared the post on her Instagram Story, simply writing: “Currently bawling my eyes out. End of an era but it’s time to get home to Galway.”

So by the sound of things, Pamela is moving home to Galway.

Her replacement at the station has yet to be announced.

Pamela previously told VIP Magazine that she is “so proud“ to hear all the women on air, with more and more being given the opportunity to get behind the mic in recent years.

“I remember when I first started in radio, someone once said to me ‘People don’t really like women on the radio’. I was like, ‘Sorry what?’, “ she told us.

“Traditionally, if you go back to the 60s, 70s, 80s it would have been a male voice you would have heard on the radio. But nowadays it’s very much 50/50 if not more.“

She has long praised her predecessor, Mairead Ronan, telling us: “Mairead has been my champion since day one. Even when I was just starting out on Today FM, she would always get me on the show to do this, that and the other.

“That continued on when I got the lunchtime show. She really got me going. We’re always in contact. She’s like a big sister to me.“

Good luck on your next adventure, Pamela.
