This week’s Operation Transformation was an emotional rollercoaster for Tipperary woman Marie Clear, who sat down with host Kathryn Thomas to discuss her plans for motherhood.
Marie was born with achondroplasia, a condition that affects growth and hopes that losing weight will help her on the road to becoming a mother. She reveals welcoming a child is her biggest dream and she will do anything to make it come true.
She says: “I knew from a young age that I always wanted to be a mom, I’m always around kids”.
Marie’s own mother, Angela has a different idea and hits back with some blunt honesty saying: “She wouldn’t be great at it”, Alexa cuts the tension with a good old Whitney Heuston song finally motivating Angela to lend her daughter a hand making the dinner.
The Tipperary native notes she’s starting to accept herself thanks to her entire experiene on Operation Transformation. Celebrating her 33rd birthday next week Marie sat down to discuss how she’s planning a baby, her answer – a fertility clinic. “Time is ticking and it’s one thing I want” she says but won’t wait for a man.
Marie has already visited a fertility clinic, so she knows she’s serious about it, backed up for us by her loss of one and a half pounds this week – bringing her one step closer to her dream of having her own baby.
