Earlier this summer, Sharlene shared a picture of her and Mickey on the pitch after a match. She’s been a brilliant supporter of his on the road to the All Ireland.

“Tippin’ on,” she captioned the picture.

VIP Magazine spoke to Sharlene following the Olympics where the Irish relay team came 4th. Now she is definitely a role model for young girls after cementing her place as a sports star.

“We have the likes of Kellie Harington, Katie Taylor, Rhasidat Adeleke, Ciara Mageean. There are so many great women in Irish sports now,” she told us.

“It’s great for girls to look at that and I think sport is a bit more glamorised now. I think it’s great that people can show their personality through sport right now. It allows people to know that you are not just sport. I am not just Sharlene the Runner, I do have other interests. I have a life outside of the sport as well!”
