Oliver Callan has slammed Vogue Williams, after it was revealed she will be taking an LSD type drug for her new RTE series.
The comedian has hit back at the fact she plans to take drugs and air the results, slating her methods of journalism.
Writing in his column for The Sun, Oliver said, “Judging by her comments on the issue, it seems Vogue Williams doesn’t understand the impact of drugs in Ireland and should not be given a platform to discuss the issue.
“In her last series, Wild Girls, Vogue attended prisons and massage parlours in a format that has been hackneyed to death and done better previoulsy by real documentarians like Louis Theroux.
“With no background in journalism, Vogue’s cutaways show a vacant look where she is laughing and joshing with guests like a slimy massage parlour owner who ought to be subject to pertinent questioning.
“It’s infuriating to see RTE constantly give series to people like Vogue whose only claim to fame is a slew of bad reality tv shows and a broken marriage with a former celebrity.”
Oliver believes there’s an array of female journalists who should have been given the opportunity to film a documentary series like this ahead of Vogue.
“Where is the original thinking? There is no shortage of talented female journalists in Ireland who should be way ahead of Williams in the queue.
“Olivia O’Leary. Larissa Nolan. Justine McCarthy. Dearbhail McDonald. Mary Wilson. Mary Regan. These are only a sample of experience and brilliant journalists who would do Vogue’s job a thousand times better.
“None of them would stoop to vulgar publicity stunts like taking drugs on tv days after a gangland murder,” he said.
This comes shortly after Oliver recently slated Rosanna Davison.
