It looks like the rain is set to continue over the weekend – sniff – so we’ve taken a look at some of the best indoor events to keep us occupied this weekend. Whether you fancy a night of movies, comedy or live music – we’ve got you covered. Check out some of our favourite events below:
Metropolis
The hottest new festival of the year, Metropolis, is arriving to Dublin this weekend. The indoor event will take place in RDS on the 7th and 8th of November, and has a stellar line-up of acts including Mark Ronson, Nile Rodgers, La Galaxie and Jamie xx. Tickets start at €79.50 and can be bought through Ticketmaster. Be sure to also check out the official afterparties which are taking place in a number of venues around Dublin. It’ll certainly be a busy weekend of music!
Cork Film Festival
If it’s a dreary and wet weekend, what’s better to do than take it easy and watch a movie? And if you’re in Cork, you’re in luck as the Cork Film Fest is arriving tomorrow evening. The week-long festival will see a number of films and documentaries being shown in various locations around the city – and it so many options, you’re guaranteed to find something you’ll enjoy! Check out the full list of screenings and locations here.
Michael McIntyre
One of our favourite comedians Michael McIntyre is coming over to Ireland this weekend for a string of shows on the Emerald Isle. The funnyman will play Dublin’s 3Arena on Friday and Saturday before heading up to Belfast later in the week. Tickets can be bought for the events through Ticketmaster.
The Dirty Dancing Show
Fancy having the time of your life this weekend? If so, this Dirty Dancing Show is definitely where you need to be. The show will see four performers arrive in from London’s Westend to sing and dance along to some of our favourite tunes from all the biggest musicals, including Dirty Dancing, Grease, Fame and Footloose – this a mash-up we’re loving the sound of! The show will be wowing the masses in The Braid Arts Centre in Antrim this weekend, and is definitely something we won’t be missing.
The Beatles festival
The Dublin Beatles Festival takes place this weekend throughout some of the cities biggest music venues. The band’s secretary, Freda Kelly, will be taking part in a public interview in the Grand Social, while Workman’s Club will be hosting a number of events over the weekend, including a performance from The Rockits, a tribute band who play in the Cavern Club in Liverpool, as well as table quiz with some big prizes up for grabs.
