Nicola Coughlan has shared that season 2 of Bridgerton has broken records, outdoing itself with season 1.
It has been revealed that season two has been viewed for a total of 627.11 million hours on Netflix while season one was 625.49 million hours, both very impressive numbers. These figures catapult it as the most-watched English language show of all time.
Nicola Coughlan who stars in the show shared her delight with the news on Instagram writing, “Really, truly, mind-blowingly bonkers. Thank you all so much for watching, rewatching and sharing your love for #Bridgerton, it means the world”
Along with her celebration, she also shared that we’re in for a treat with the third season, with some very exciting plotlines on the way.
“Just wait till you see what we’re cooking up for Season 3”
It’s believed that Nicola will play a bigger part in the third season of the show. In a recent interview, Nicola explained how she is due some steamier scenes in the next seasons. Chatting to RTE Entertainment, Nicola said:
“There’s a scene in a carriage and Penelope and Colin are sort of arguing but then it gets very romantic. It would be such a great scene in the show but the thought of filming it terrifies me”
“I’ve read the books and I know that scene gets very racy. I was in a show prior to this called Harlots and I played a harlot, and my mother has never seen that show, not one scene.”
For now, there’s no release date for when season 3 will land, but given the show’s trajectory, fans believe it could be Winter 2022 when it hits.
