The Bridgerton and Derry Girls actress and Galway native took to Instagram to share her excitement for the Emmy’s and Bridgerton’s 12 nominations while also honouring her cast mate Claudia Jessie who she is delighted to experience the journey with.
She captioned the picture, “Happy Bridgerton Emmys Day!
So proud to be part of this show and to have 12 nominations is truly beyond our wildest dreams.
“So lucky to share this experience with this brilliant girl who is so kind and supportive and hilarious and also sometimes stalks my social media, I love you Clauds!!”
At the end of the night Bridgerton claimed the award for Outstanding Period And/Or Character Hairstyling.
The cast were unable to attend the awards due to filming of season two of the show.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Nicola explained, “It’s the biggest awards in television, so to be recognised is phenomenal…We were all super excited.
“We [are] in the middle of filming season two right now, so the new season two group chat was going off. It’s called ‘Bridger-2,’ which I picked that name and felt very proud. I felt like, ‘That’s so smart!'”
Keeping to their busy work schedule and to their Covid-19 bubble, the cast didn’t make it to the awards, except for Regé-Jean Page who is not appearing in season two.
We cannot wait for the new series to air, no doubt it’ll be bigger and even more steamy than the first, if that’s possible!
