Nicky Byrne celebrated 20 years of marriage this month with his wife Georgina Ahern.
The pair decided to mark the momentous occasion by renewing their wedding vows.
They opted for a simple ceremony which Nicky describes as just 10 minutes.
Speaking to Dave Moore on his new radio show, Nicky said: “We had an end of summer party and the guests that were coming had no idea. We were 20 years married last 9th of August and we wanted to renew the vows and do something fun for the craic, not real soppy soppy.
“We had a celebrant come over to the house, Aine McKenna, and it was very quick, only 10 minutes. Rocco and Jay are 16 now and Gia is 10 next month, she was flower girl throwing petals down.
“I was 24 when we got married, which is young nowadays, no one gets married at 24 now these days and really when we were getting married no one was getting married at 24 either!”
He went on to say: “It’s one of those ‘We’re long time together and still very much in love and happily married so why not do it?’ It was kind of more for the kids as well, the joy on their faces and the craic on their faces.”
