Niamh DeBrún married Kilkenny hurler TJ Reid this winter, but the couple had an unexpected first Christmas as newlyweds…
In a recent Q&A Niamh revealed to followers, that she, like many others had to spend Christmas isolating away from her family.
When a follower asked how her Christmas was, Niamh wrote, “Our first Christmas married wasn’t what we had imagined.
“We planned on spending it in Limerick with my family but unfortunately on Christmas morning we had to leave Limerick to isolate like a lot of others. Anyways, it could have been a lot worse, we are all fine.”
The couple tied the knot at the stunning Adare Manor Hotel in November after being engaged since 2019.
One follower recently asked her if she had to pick a favourite moment from the big day what would it be, Niamh replied, “Very hard to choose one part of the day… Seeing TJ waiting for me while I walked up the aisle with my dad was a lovely feeling of happiness.”

Niamh even shared a picture of the special moment! It’s brilliant to see that she has some happy memories from this Winter before their isolation.
The couple weren’t alone in their Covid-Christmas experience, many families across the country had members who had to isolate for the festivities.
Another familiar face who isolated over Christmas was Doireann Garrihy. The presenter tested positive on her way down to her family in Clare and had to isolate in accommodation five minutes down the road.
Doireann’s mother Clare dropped her and her boyfriend Paddy their Christmas dinner on the day and they Facetimed the family at the table.
