Niamh Cullen tied the knot to her husband Jamie Gill last year and just days after their wedding day he was rushed to hospital.
The couple has spent the last few months in and out of hospital.
And now the fitness influencer has opened up about the “turbulent start” to their marriage.
She shared how much she appreciated everyone’s kind words as she took time away from social media to support Jamie.
“It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been on here,” she said in a video. “Things took a bit of a scary turn there the last couple of weeks. I know I share snippets of my life on here, the good, the bad. But things have just been particularly heavy behind the scenes.
“I’m sure you’re aware that things have not been the best for Jamie and myself since we’ve gotten married. We’ve had a bit of a turbulent start to our marriage and he’s had a bit of a turbulent road to say the least. We’re just coming out of something that was quite difficult for us.”
She went on to say that Jamie “is okay” before adding that she won’t be sharing “everything that is going on”.
“I know we will in time because it’s something we have spoken about. I do think when you share your stories it can be quite helpful to other people who are going through different things.”

She added: “But just right now I just want to say I appreciate you all and I appreciate all your messages. Thank you for sticking by me for all these inconsistencies.”
She explained: “With Jamie, I just want to protect his privacy right now because it’s not my story alone to share. It’s his. And we’re still getting through it together. It’s been quite hard so we’re just honestly trying to navigate it ourselves as well.
“Right now we’re just in the thick of it. I know we will get through this and we are getting through it.”
She wrote in the caption: “Hey beautiful people.
“I have been quiet on here lately… we are just moving through a bit of a tough time and navigating it as best we can.
“Thank you for the love, patience, and check-ins they have meant more than you know. Ready to come back to some normality but felt weird coming on and not addressing as you know I love to keep it real with you all. Sending love to anyone else walking through something hard, you’re not alone.

Niamh and Jamie got married on November 8th in Italy with Jamie’s health taking a turn for the worst just days later.
