Niamh Algar is set to star in a new thriller series and we could not be more excited for her!
The Mullingar actress has been cast opposite Tom Hollander (The White Lotus, Feud: Capote vs The Swans) in Iris, a brand-new eight-part thriller series from Luther writer-creator Neil Cross.
Other cast members include Sacha Dhawan, Meréana Tomlinson, Maya Sansa, Peter Sullivan, and Debi Mazar.
So what’s it all about?

According to Sky, “Iris is a sun-drenched chase thriller about a rootless and enigmatic genius, Iris Nixon (Niamh), who steals a code from charming philanthropist Cameron McIntyre (Tom) and goes on the run.
“Armed only with her lethal intelligence and chameleonic charm, the clock is ticking for her to work out what the code could unleash before she is found.”
Safe to say, we’re already hooked!
Speaking about the new project in a statement, Neil said: “All I wanted to do was to make a show I wanted to watch.
“Iris is an unapologetically exciting, witty, chase-driven adventure show and features a lead character the like of which I don’t think we’ve ever met before on TV.
“With Niamh Algar and Tom Hollander bringing these complex characters to life, coupled with Terry McDonough’s direction, I couldn’t be more excited to share this world and these characters.”
As the series will start filming this month in Sardinia, Italy, it will sadly be another while before it hits our screens.
So until then, we will be patiently waiting!
