Donal Skehan has revealed that he is planning to start a family at some point with long term love Sofie Larsson.
The pair wed this summer after almost ten years of being together, and the celebrity chef has admitted that becoming a dad in the future is on the menu.
The cook book author recently announced that he will be moving to the US with his wife Sofie, who is originally from Sweden.
And he told the Herald that once things calm down for the couple, they plan to start having children.
“It’s something that we have always talked about it but we’re both still under 30. Friends of ours have had kids so it’s hard not to think about it but we want to be a little more settled before we do it,” the 29-year-old said.
Donal said that until then, the pair are happy to care for their foster dog Max, who is so important to them both that he even starred in their June wedding.
And he opened up about how he and Sofie keep their romance alive, despite working together – his wife, who he met in 2006, is a photographer who snaps all his foodie shots.
“You have to make sure that you have time for each other and we’ve been working together for the last eight years so we make an effort to do things that are not work-based. Otherwise, you end up just talking about things that are work-related,” he said.
Donal’s latest book ‘Fresh’ is out now.
