A new adaptation of Matilda is in the works, and this time it’s set to be a musical!
Netflix are adapting the popular Roald Dahl story and have now released some details on the film.
Some well known faces are set to star in the movie, including Emma Thompson who will be playing the iconic Miss Trunchbull.

The lead role of Matilda will be played by young Irish actress, Alisha Weir.
The 11-year-old, who is from Dublin has previously featured on the Late Late Toy Show where she performed in 2017.
In 2019 she also featured in the Virgin Media crime drama, Darklands.
Alisha is a member of Johnny Ward’s drama school and is signed by the Maureen Ward Talent Agency so she’s well on the way for a career as an actress.
The movie will be directed by Matthew Warchus, who directed the musical for the West End stage back in 2010.
The release date is set to be announced so watch this space!
